RODA ACCOMMODATION
The first consideration when coming to Roda, is what type of accommodation to choose. The Village provides a complete cross-section of room types and there should be something to suit all tastes. Because Roda is so popular, many people return every year, some for two or even three visits. Many of these visitors understand that they may pay a little more if they travel independently, but they do get better value for their money. With the accommo-dation fee going directly to the owner and not the travel company, he or she is better able, and more inclined, to improve his rooms. The accommodation owners are honest and trustworthy, and they will do everything they can to make your stay memorable so that you will return in the future.
If you feel that you would rather book a package with a well-known tour organiser, then there are a number of companies with pre-allocated rooms in the Village. Check out their ‘Greek Islands’ brochures for Corfu and the Ionian Islands to see what is available. If you need more
information about Roda accommodation, either from us or from previous visitors, contact this website and ask your questions on the Forum.
The types of village rooms are as follows:
ROOM ONLY - With Roda’s extensive mix of inexpensive all-day eating places, many visitors to the Village do choose to stay in basic rooms with little more than a kettle to make a drink. This is certainly the cheapest form of accommo-dation as everything you need to do except sleep is right on your doorstep. Many room-only apartments have only basic showering facilities.
SELF-CATERING – There is a range of self-catering apart-ments & studios in Roda. The most basic will have a refrigerator, a kettle & some form of cooking facility - probably a small two-ring cooker with a grill. Shower room facilities will vary, but they are usually adequate. At the other end of the spectrum, you will get full size cookers, kettles & toasters and some even have washing machines, TV, DVD, dishwashers, safes, fly-screens, corner baths
and more. There are even a few ‘family’ rooms sleeping up to as many as eight people. Obviously, some self-catering will cost more than others and if you do want to cook for yourself you should make sure when you book that are getting what you want.
BED & BREAKFAST – Some larger establishments in Roda do provide a ‘bed & breakfast’ service for their clients as part of the package. The rooms will be clean & basic and the breakfasts will usually be self-service, continental style.
HOTELS – There a number of hotels in & around Roda, each one providing the full range of facilities that you might expect. Most will have their own dining rooms and swimming pools and, if you don’t want to venture out too far, you can usually get all you need on one site.
ALL-INCLUSIVE COMPLEXES – Roda has two all-inclusive operators on the outskirts of the village, but most of their guests do seem to find the Village more interesting.
